Breast augmentation uses implants or fat transfer to increase breast size and fullness, restore volume lost after pregnancy or weight change, and improve natural asymmetry. It enhances projection and the balance between the breast and hip contours. Augmentation does not correct significant sagging on its own — when the breasts also droop, it is combined with a breast lift.
A breast lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to restore a more youthful contour, and can reduce an enlarged areola. It addresses changes in shape and firmness from pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuation, aging, and gravity. A lift reshapes rather than resizes — when added volume is desired, it is paired with an implant.
Breast reduction removes excess breast tissue, fat, and skin to relieve the physical burden of overly large breasts — including neck, back, and shoulder pain, skin irritation, and activity limitations. The result is breasts that are more proportional to your frame, with improved comfort and better-fitting clothing.
Breast reconstruction rebuilds the shape and appearance of the breast after mastectomy or lumpectomy, using implants, your own tissue, or a combination of both. As an academic reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Gupta approaches reconstruction with attention to symmetry, sensation, and the individual goals of each patient across the full course of recovery.
Gynecomastia surgery corrects over-developed or enlarged male breast tissue using liposuction, direct tissue removal, or both, to create a flatter, firmer, and more masculine chest contour.
